With a legacy spanning over a century, we are masters in crafting bespoke garments, leaving no corners cut. Our artistry lies in artisanal skills, experience, and intuition.

Just like architects of style, we design suits that perfectly embrace your body, posture, gait, and taste. Once you experience the exquisite pleasure of a bespoke garment, no mass-produced suit can compare. Immerse yourself in the enchantment of tailoring, where every stitch is woven to perfection, exclusively for you.

Full Bespoke Suits

FullBespokeSuitTailoring.jpg

Zink & Sons started as a bespoke tailoring service and that remains our central offering to this day. We’re proud of upholding this centuries-old tradition in its purest form.

The bespoke process requires between 30 and 40 measurements, to ensure the finished suit matches your posture and gait. A pattern unique to you is cut in paper, and based on that the fabric panels are cut and loosely stitched together for the baste fitting.

After that, the fabric panels are pulled apart and re-cut based on the fitting. Your paper pattern is also re-cut and further adjusted. The fabric is then sewn together, this time with even more precision. Your next fitting takes care of finishing touches and adjustments.

A bespoke jacket also has a full canvas construction - the horsehair part sewn between the lining and the jacket cloth that gives the jacket structure, and it allows the cloth to drape better on your body.

A full bespoke garment is also stitched entirely by hand—even the buttonholes. That’s the kind of luxury craftsmanship that made history on Savile Row, and we keep alive in Sydney.

In the bespoke process, time is on the side of high quality and perfect fit. Time to choose the perfect cloth, to cut the most accurate pattern, to finish the details with ultimate skill and precision. Our bespoke suits require 3-4 fittings and the process usually takes around 14 weeks.

Semi Bespoke Suits

SemiBespokeSuitTailoring.jpg

Our semi-bespoke suits offer a step into the world of bespoke tailoring without the full-bespoke price tag or timeframe. We take an extra set of measurements to ensure we get all the detail we need for an excellent fit even without the baste fitting.

You still get an individual pattern created just for you, but the semi-bespoke jacket has a half canvas construction, which means that the canvas piece extends from the shoulder to about half way down the body of the jacket. We can also make the semi-bespoke suits in a full canvas option. This ensures the jacket still drapes well, and it’s also a lighter weight than the full canvas of the bespoke jacket. The suit is then finished off by machine, rather than fully by hand.

You may find the semi bespoke suit a good way to transition from ready-to-wear or made to measure suit into the bespoke experience. With personal styling, fabric choice and detailed measurements, the fit of a semi-bespoke suit will easily surpass any off-the-rack or made to measure suit.

Our semi-bespoke suits only require 1-2 fittings and the process usually takes around 8-10 weeks.

Bespoke Shirts

BespokeShirtTailoring.jpg

A bespoke shirt is a big step up from even the very best ready-to-wear shirts. We cut no corners in crafting your shirt and you can choose from the highest quality shirtings from the best European mills including Tessitura Monti and Canclini of Italy (these two mills are regarded as the best in Italy, so really, the world).

You can personalise your shirt endlessly through your choice of details like collar, cuff, pleats, pockets. Plus you can choose from a range of cuts including easy, regular, slim and ultra slim to ensure the fit of the shirt will be exactly as you want it.

Once you choose the fabric, style and cut, we take a full set of measurements and we draft a pattern, and we cut the fabric based on that. Your pattern is then stored away for future orders.

If you’re a new client, getting that absolute perfect fit in a shirt can sometimes take a few visits, so we recommend beginning with two or three shirts at the most. After wearing your new shirts for a while, we can discuss any changes to our pattern, so the next shirts you have made fit beyond perfection.

A bespoke shirt usually takes around four weeks to craft.

Women's Suits

We’re just as skilled at creating full bespoke suits and shirts for women. The bespoke tailoring process is the same traditional one, from detailed measurements to the individually-cut paper pattern, baste fitting and hand finishing and detailing.

You can choose from our extensive range of English and Italian woven fabrics and from our choices of style and cut. You’re also very welcome to bring in your favourite existing suit, which we can use as a base and improve as you wish.

Women’s bespoke suits take 4-6 with 3-4 fittings required.

Our women’s shirts are an art on its own which requires an approach completely different to men’s shirts. Shirts off the rack hardly ever fit perfectly. We combine new cutting and styling techniques to ensure the best drape and fit for women’s shirts. You can also bring along your favourite shirt to serve as inspiration.

Bespoke women’s shirts will take three weeks.
